The Austrian Federal guild of painters, varnishers and plasterers.

Bundesinnung der Maler und Tapezierer - The Austrian Federal Guild of Painters and upholsterers is the branch organization within the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber that represents the interests of Painting, Varnishing and Manufacturing enterprises in Austria. The WKÖ is the legal representative of the entire Austrian business community. Membership is mandatory and comprises all Austrian companies. The guild represents 3.500 enterprises that employ around 16.000 employees in Austria. Amongst the activities of the Painters Guild there is: Effective representation and promotion of the interests of Painting and Varnish enterprises at local, regional, national, European and global level, problem solving and collective bargaining within the framework of social partnership, high-quality information, advisory and training services to members, including all issues relevant for enterprises.

Construction Confederation

Confédération Construction - Confederatie Bouw - The Construction Confederation is since 1946 the leading business organisation, recognized employers’ organisation and representative body of the construction industry in Belgium. It represents some 15,000 member companies of all sizes, from small enterprises to global players, carrying out all forms of building and civil engineering activities. The Construction Confederation is a member of the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (FEB), the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) and European International Contractors (EIC). The federation of Belgian Painters has 600 members, spread across our three country regions. 350 in Flanders, 200 in Wallonia and 50 in Brussels. Totally, there are more than 5000 painting companies across the country. The vast majority are very small businesses with no employees or small businesses with 1 to 4 employees. Our Members represent a total number of 2.400 employees on an active population of more than 10.000. One of our mayor concerns of this moment is the lack of employees. Education is one of the most important themes we worked around the last few years. We want to upgrade the image of the painting job, the quality of our programs and promote the profession among young people. One of the most important achievements is the creation of a comic book about the painter's job.

CANADA

Ontario Painting Contractors Association

The Ontario Painting Contractors Association is the largest provincial trade association representing painting contractors in Canada, all of whom are involved in the painting and wall covering application industry in the commercial, industrial and institutional construction sector. The association exists to foster, develop and maintain unity and stability among its members by acting as: the employer bargaining agency with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, as well as providing services and educational opportunities, acting as a liaison between industry groups, upholding and improving the standards of the industry, promoting the use of modern specifications by architects and any group concerned with specification writing, keeping its members informed on industry matters and advancing an attitude of ethical responsibility and pride. OPCA contractors employ approximately 5500 trades people and are actively engaged in the training of apprentices at three regional training centres specifically designed for the painting and glazing trade.

DENMARK

The Danish Federation of Masterpainters

Danske Malermestre - The Danish federation of Master painters negotiates trade agreements and helps members when problems with customers or employees occur. The federation’s expertise lies in trade agreements and technical matters related to the painting trade. The federation has 1,700 members with an annual turnover of approximately 5 billion dkr. The members employ approx. 7.000 fulltime persons, which is 80% of the total employment inside the painting trade. The federation itself employs 15 persons and has an annual turnover of 26 million dkr.
