EuroPaintingSkills 2007






Eleven young European painters competed in UNIEP’s EuroPaintingSkills competition from 5 to 9 November in Genoa, Italy. Because of the excellent results two silver medals were given: These are the winners: Karin Hänni (CH): gold medal Carlos Azevedo (F): silver medal Anja Koller (D): silver medal
In alphabetical order: Henk Roel Afman (NL), Mara Beccaris (IT/RSM), Greta Valentina Corrada (IT), Padraigh Crowley (IE), Peeter Dodjak (EE), Daniel Hubert (LU), James Phillips (UK), Petr Rus (CZ). The experts were: Anton van Wezep (NL, chief expert), Monica de Alessandri (I), Alban Hamot (F), Pavel Kirchner (CZ), Pat Mahon (IE), Michele Martella (I), Norbert Meyer (LU), Stefan Neuschwandener (CH), Mike
Philo (UK), Eiko Roosimägi (EE), Kevin Smith (UK).  Within 22 hours the candidates had to perform high level painting and decorating tasks.
The winner, Karin Hänni, was born in 1984 in Riggisberg, canton Bern, Switzerland. She did her vocational training at Malerei Jürg Lüthi, Mühlethurnen and intends to make her master degree. Karin Hänni is sure that “the doors to Europe are now open for me.”
