General information
The Federal guild of Painters and Plasterers, is the branch organisation within the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (Wirtschaftskammer Österreich – WKÖ) that represents the interests of Painting, Plastering and Varnishing enterprises in Austria. The WKÖ is the legal representative of the entire Austrian business community. Membership is mandatory and comprises all Austrian companies. The guild represents 3644 enterprises that employ around 16.000 employees in Austria. 
Amongst the activities of the Painters Guild there is:
Effective representation and promotion of the interests of Painting and Varnish enterprises at local, regional, national, European and global level. 
Problem solving and collective bargaining within the framework of social partnership. 
High-quality information, advisory and training services to members, including all issues relevant for enterprises.

The Danish federation of Masterpainters negotiates trade agreements and helps members when problems with customers or employees occur. The federation’s expertise lies in
trade agreements and technical matters related to the painting trade. The federation has 1,800 members with an annual
turnover of approximately 5 billion dkr. The members employ approx. 7.000
fulltime persons, which is 80% of the total employment inside the painting
trade. The federation itself employs 18 persons and has an annual turnover
of 26 million dkr.

Suomen Maalarimestariliitto has 320 member enterprises. Currently we have 20 member associations in which those enterprises are members. Suomen Maalarimestariliitto makes collective agreements for painters so it means that we are employer's organization. Main Association for Paint, Design and Building Protection in Germany

General information
The Main Association for Paint, Design and Building Protection in Germany, represent over 40,000 painting and varnishing firms.  Of these, 3,500 are motor-vehicle paint-spraying firms (about nine per cent) and over 2,000 general paintworks. According to statistics there are about a quarter of a million persons employed (255,000) under our organisation banner.

Each of the 255,000 employees in both areas of work achieve on average a turnover of some 52,663 Euros. This amounts to a total turnover of 13.5 thousand million Euros.

The Main Association for Paint, Design and Building Protection represents the interests of painting and varnishing operations in Germany.  The Main Association for Paint, Design and Building Protection shows, by means of a fair, that the fabric of the building retains its value only if there is work of high quality. Moreover, the Main Association for Paint, Design and Building Protection also provides political support to painting and varnishing enterprises, in order to improve conditions of work, so that our enterprises can ensure the customer lasting work of high quality.

General information
FOSAG represents 3200 enterprises. These 3200 enterprises (members of FOSAG) represent 85% of the total turn over (2.4 billion Euro) of painting and decorating traders in The Netherlands.
The 3200 member enterprises employ 30.000 workers (of a total in The Netherlands of 35.000).
 FOSAG is the interest association of the employers in the sector. The association represents the members in numerous contacts with the Dutch government. FOSAG is contract partner in the social contract with the Union in the sector. Besides this core business of FOSAG, the association offers services to the members, such as juridical advice, information about legal regulations, and publications about developments in the branch.

General information
MPDI was founded in 1899 at a time when the trade union movement was gaining in strength and recognition. Employers banded together to deal collectively with new groups and to promote the painting industry in Ireland. The Master Painters and Decorators of Ireland represent the painting industry in Ireland which is estimated to be worth in excess of €800m in 2001. 
The MPDI are the voice for Painting Contractors in Ireland who employ nearly 9,000 painters and decorators throughout Ireland.
MPDI actively promote high standards of painting and decoration for new buildings as well as for restoration and maintenance of refurbished property. Members of the MPDI benefit from the specialist expertise devoted to problem solving and policy development for the painting industry.
MPDI undertake a range of initiatives on behalf of members at national level. These include:
Developing best practices to ensure that the quality of service of members is recognised by industry professionals, consultants and clients.
Promotional activities to develop and grow markets.
Negotiations with Government and State agencies on resources to improve the industry for all members.
Provision of expertise through seminars on new technology, financial changes or work practices affecting the painting industry.
Negotiating with other sectors of the industry to enhance good working conditions.
Through its links with overseas counterparts, the MPDI keeps members informed of international developments, especially in relation to materials and training.

The Italian painting and palastering contractors association aims to safeguard and promote the interests of the painting and plastering sector. The secretariat servicing the association is based in Milan at the headquarters of Confartigianato. This umbrella body is responsible for the usual areas of activity of an employers' association, such as wage negotiations and employment matters. The ANVIDES association was founded in 1962. At the present time, the association is primarily concerned with topics which affect the larger and specialist companies, such as health & safety regulations, prices and qualifications. The object of ANVIDES is to promote and improve the reputation of the sector, as well as to improve profitability and marketing opportunities. In this, it works in co-operation with other associations such as Confartigianato-Anaepa, CNA and the Unione Artigiani e Confapi.

The aim of the federation is to represent and defend the interests of painters and glaziers in Luxemburg. The Federation of painters and glaziers of Luxemburg dates back as far as 1900, when the founders had noticed the importance to come as unified group t defend the interests of the profession. Today the federation represents 176 enterprises that employ around 1652 workers in Luxemburg. 
It participates in negotiations with social partners concerning collective agreements for the profession and all aspects relevant to the field of painting. The federation is actively involved in training of painters and the award of the Master certificate. It also participates in international and regional painting fairs.

The Norwegian Federation of Painting Contractors (MLF), established in 1908, deals with questions concerning governmental policies relating to its member companies.  MLF is also involved in negotiations on collective agreements with the employees unions.  MLF runs a large number of projects aiming at enabling its members to create better business for themselves and their employees.  MLF is also engaged in various forms of member service activities, like legal advice and education. MLF has around 500 member companies with an estimated 3500 employees.

ANSPI was founded on June the 6th 1973 in order to regroup, represent and defend of the painting contractors in the whole of Spain. The Swiss association of painter entrepreneurs is an association, which aims to promote and defend the interest of the painting and plastering trade. The SMGV was established in 1908 and 2200 painting and plastering enterprises compose the association today. These enterprises are situated in the German speaking part of the country as well as in the Jura and Tessin cantons.  Furthermore, as an employer, trade and entrepreneurs association the SMGV negotiates framework agreements with social partners that are legally binding for the whole trade. SMGV’s service centre is in Walliselen where most of the training is given.
